Fencing Camps
You are invited to come learn the techniques, drills, and competitive skills
of Olympic foil fencers. Students take fencing lessons, learn fencing
drills, join in fitness training, and take fencing footwork classes.
Students also learn strategic thinking skills, tournament skills and sports
etiquette.

Beginners welcome!
Fencing is an official
Olympic sport that requires quickness and strength. It is a challenging and
rewarding sport, both physically and mentally.
On the athletic side, speed and endurance are foremost, followed by
strength, precision, and flexibility.
On the intellectual side, a good focus combined with strategy and
tactics is essential.
The summer camp includes:
•Fencing fitness training
•Fencing drills
•Fencing footwork lessons
•Bouting
•Fencing games
•Activities such as Rock Climbing and Swimming
•All necessary fencing equipment
•Lunch

Coaches:
Walid Mahran - Maître d’Armes of fencing. Head coach of
Athletic Club Northeast fencing. Three-time member of Olympic Fencing Team
and winner of numerous international competitions and national titles. Former
international ranking fencer. Champion coach by USFA.
Anna Repetskaya was three time member of USSR National Team.
Before becoming an outstanding coach, she was an outstanding international
competitive fencer with strong international results including the Champion
of Belgium in 2006.
Jenny moncada was four time member of Columbia National Team. She won
the Gold Medal in South Americ Championship and Bronze Medal in Pan-America
Games in 1999. She also won numerous National Champions in Columbia.

Level of expertise required: Beginners are welcome and will be
integrated slowly into an intermediate fencing camp group. Some of our
campers have been fencing for years, while others have never held a foil in
their hand before.
Cost includes: All training, lessons, classes, equipment rental,
and lunch.
What to bring: Please make sure your camper brings long pants
(warm-up pants are fine), good gym shoes, an extra T-shirt (fencing is a high
energy sport), and a bathing suit for our afternoon swim break (every other
day of the camp).

Coaches:
Walid Mahran has exemplary coaching
credentials. He was three-time member of the Egyptian Olympic fencing team
and has won numerous international competitions and national titles. Walid
Mahran attended various esteemed coaching schools in Germany, Hungary,
Greece, Egypt and France. He also earned a certificate in fencing instruction
from the highly respected Bordeaux Academy in Bordeaux, France.
Ariana Klinkov is a coach at Prise de Fer Fencing Club in
Boston, MA Ariana was three-time-member of US National Champion Women's Team
and has many years coaching experience. She is also the First Female 3 Weapon
Referee in the World.
